How agencies buy
- In your account, pick a pack and press Buy. That raises an invoice for it.
- Put your PO number and your accounts-payable address on the invoice when you press Buy.
- Pay it on a secure invoice page from Stripe, our payment processor, by card — a purchasing card included — or by bank transfer (ACH).
- The credits arrive when the invoice is paid: by card, usually within a minute or so; by bank transfer, when the payment reaches us, which can take several business days.

Questions
What can the free page do?
Repair one PDF at a time, automatically: a text layer when the whole file is a scan with no text, a title and a language, form-field names read from the labels printed beside them, and a structure tree where the document and the service allow one. It tells you what it changed, what it left alone and why, and what still needs a person.
Does it certify ADA, WCAG or PDF/UA conformance?
No, and no automated tool can. GovAccess fixes what software can fix in each PDF and tells you what a person should still check. Decisions about your legal obligations, including any Title II exception, are your agency’s.
Can it handle scans, forms and protected files?
Scans with no text are given a text layer by recognition, and form fields are named from their printed labels. Some documents cannot be repaired automatically — a locked file, for example — and the report says which and why.
Is my PDF stored?
Not on the free page: the repaired copy is held in memory for a few minutes, until you download it or it is discarded, and neither the original nor the copy is written to our database. In an account, a PDF you upload, and its fixed copy, are kept for a limited time so you can compare and download them, and then removed.
Is my email address kept?
Only if you download a repaired copy on the free page. Then we keep the address, and your name and organization if you give them, as a sales record so we can follow up once. It is kept until you ask us to delete it. Reply STOP to any email from us and we stop sending you sales and follow-up email. Write to us asking us to delete the record and we delete it. We keep only a scrambled fingerprint of the address, so that we never send it sales or follow-up email again. The privacy page has the details.
Does AI process my PDF?
Not on the free page: no AI model is used there. In an account, an AI model writes picture descriptions only where a structure is written and your account has them on, and each one is labelled as written by AI and shown beside its picture for you to check. The optional web-page (HTML) version uses one for a document our own layout reader cannot convert, and, where picture descriptions are on for that work, to describe its pictures, however it was made.
Do I need to register?
Not for the free PDF. An account is needed to fix a folder and to buy credits, and creating one is free.
How do purchase orders work?
Put your PO number on the invoice when you press Buy, and pay it as you would any vendor’s. The credits arrive when it is paid. Our vendor details are on the contact and procurement page.
